Permission Forms
As a group we decided to film our opening scene at school as the location was perfect for what we wanted to do. Within our girls boarding house we have the perfect factilies to make a good opening scene. For doing this we had to ask our House-Mistress for permission to film within the house.
This form gave us permission to film within the house;
We all decided to only use two charecters within our opening scene as it doesnt complicate the audience as gives a good clear storyline. Both of our actors were very excited to be within our opening scene which benefitted us as we had an advantage as our actors were very motivated.

Our Music
This is GarageBand where we made out muisc for our thriller opening scene, as you know our insipration was from The Women in Black so we decided to make some music that sounded as similar as possible. I had never used GarageBand before and it was actually quite easy to use however there were so many options for different types of music it did take us quite a long time to make out music.
We first decided to use a piano as our main instrument to work with
We then brought in some bass and other piano parts to build up the music

Our Idea
We found it quite hard to come up with a good idea that could keep the audience interested and isn't the typical thriller that is predictable. Also we didn't want to give too much away in our opening scene as in the questionnaire that I did, the results said that its best if you give away as little as possible in the opening scene, so this will help us target our audience.
We first came up with a sub-genre that we could work with to get an idea of what kind of opening scene we needed to do. Finally we came up with the idea of a sub-genre of horror thriller.
We then had to think what story we could do to emphasise t3he sub- genre that we chose. Including location, props, make up, lighting.
We all discussed about ideas, and we finally came up with a good idea which would show the genre of the film, keep the audience on the edge of their seats and isn't typical and predictable story.
Our idea is, there is a blonde girl around the ages of 16/17 and she has been brought up within a good middle class wealthy family and has a good relationship with them. She goes to a good private school and has a good relationship with her friends as well. The house that she is within school has always had 'rumours' that it was haunted and students get followed by people completely covered in black, but everyone thought it was complete nonsense. However, this girl is a witness to this 'rumour'. She starts to get very paranoid when she was in the house without any of her friends, but she wouldn't say anything to them as she would just laughed at. This started to really get her down that she has no support from anyone that she started to self- harm herself and started to fail in school. No one believed her that she is being followed, this lead her to go off tracks and gives up on everything, even her relationship with her family.
We then had to come up with a title for our film, this was quite hard as we wanted something to attract the audience because in my questionnaire I asked my participants if they thought that a title was very important and the majority of them said yes so we needed to come up with a title that attracted our target audience. We came up with a title called Double Life, but we decided that she wasn't actually living a double life that much because she starts to change and also it doesn't define the genre of the film. We finally came up with the title ' Tortured'. We thought that this fitted in with our story well and shows that this is a horror thriller so it will target our audience well.

Music Video
This music video inspired us alot as in the title the 'R' which gave us the idea to use it in our title. Also within the scene that she is looking in the mirror she sees someone in black walk past which also gave us an idea to use it within our film. Also when she turns to look for the person who walked past you see a refection of her doing something else in the mirror that we wanted to use but it was too hard to film it. This music video insipered us alot and gave us some great ideas to work with.
